The Trouble with Communal living

Man is a sociable creature in as much as without other people he has no one to murder, rape, bully, subject or exert power upon other than himself and that we have a term for, Sado Masochism. For this reason we’ve learnt to live together so that these things can take place, the species may continue, so that injustice can continously exist indefinitely.
Its a system we try our best to ignore and lo and behold the majority of us can ignore it very well, we call these people tabloid reader, or Daily Mail readers or the great British public or as I like to term them closed minds with open mouths. ‘Consumers’ is another popular term and strangely though it connotes something similar to leechlike vermin, people are less offended when they are labelled as consumers, in fact they often call themselves consumers because they like to feel it gives them a form of power especially over those they see as being ripe for consumption.
There is a mathematical formula that describes this very well.

This is where I’s is Individuals (or monkeys with high minded ideas) PSO is pre-set opinions often disseminated by most media outlets or bred into Individuals by the society in which they live, MC is material comfort, or non prescription drugs such as Television, Mass produce and celebrity Idolotry. A is for Apathy and C is confusion, the end result is 1x a Harmless Contented Populace.
Beautiful I’m sure you’d agree.
However such a system is somewhat susceptible to certain faults; the main problem being that the consumers become sheep, or the sheep become consumers (I can never tell) and then like a large dumb farm animal with a ring in its nose, they are led by the snout by whatever hand deems it necessary for them to move.
What you have is an instantly malleable society subject to its hedonism, subject to it’s comfort and materialistic pleasures, aneathatised by synthetic reality, cut price Primark clothes and a distinct fear of a faceless terror that threatens to destroy our way of life.
That we wear clothes that have been created by people, often women and children working inhuman hours in inhuman conditions for less than $2 a day is not beyond our comprehension, it’s just its easier to worry about what colour a footballers hair is, it’s easier to complain that you’ve got a sugar café mocha rather than a non sugar café mocha, it’s easier to worry about you over inflated house prices rising or falling in the meaningless mathematical void that they inhabit.
Some things you see are too large to worry about and thus people actively disqualify themselves from any form of important decision making , an ideal situation for whatever ruling class they have opted to have subjugate them.
That is the other sign of a developed society, the concept of democracy, usually democracy is also confused with freedom which is odd because democracy is simply a system whereby whatever disenfranchises the apparent minority and empowers the apparent majority goes. As a result laws and decisions are made which nearly half the population disagree with (in the case of this particular Island that is nearly 25 million people)
This we see as being the best system of governance that there is and despite it’s glaring errors and idealogical faults we see it fit to export it, using force if necessary to other sovereign nations; when people die as a result we mumble Platitudes about the greater good and switch on to Coronation Street to keep up with a disconnected and fabricated reality concerning human values such as love, hate, fear and infidelity (lots of that because sex! It sells, and you don’t get much more sex than by sleeping with anything that moves and justifying it as love every time you do rather than the desperate urge to scratch a form of itch)
As a population we trumpet our own particular way of living as being the best one, everyone else is backward or just plain wrong, this being despite the fact that the general populace don’t understand the politics of being a moron and more importantly despite being given the vote a good 25 million choose not to even exercise it.
But they still complain to about the Government they get stuck with.
Now the subject title.
The trouble is that despite the obvious problems of packing people in close together and watching them fight (a bit like putting red ants in a black ant farm and watching the fun) we as individuals don’t get much done and only as a collective can we muddle on through.

You see every now and then someone smart is born, someone smart works out how to stop large droves of people dying by discovering the principle behind inoculation or penicillin or rudimentary surgery, other smart people work out how to fly across oceans in large metal containers. The smart people build a world and then the monkeys populate it and as a result mistakenly believe they are highly advanced when in actual fact they have no idea about the what the world around them entails or means and simply find solace in the mind numbing glow of commerce and consumerism.
So to recap, the problems of Communal living is that there tends to be negative throwbacks mainly due to the misperception that we are powerless and the fear of the boundless aggression which exists in the world outside; that you are more likely to be murdered by your fellow countryman than by someone from another country, that you are more likely to die for no other reason than somebody taking offence at your face rather than political motives is largely ignored. Us and Them is a better philosophy for the ruling class than every man for himself.
Bred in with a fervent love of the country and a healthy desire to give your life for it’s high minded ideals the whole system is built around creating mindless drones that will work, live, breed, fight and die for the concept of nationality.

In essence there is a real lack of choice being that we are slaves to our genes and our society, to this end I don’t know a way out and most people upon realising this succumb to the all encompassing warmth of total surrender and become numbed.
Idealism is a charming concept but without practical application we are just clapping ourselves on the back and congratulating our own greatness whilst we slide into our self made oblivion.
